Indianapolis Colts dominate New York Jets, 41-10

The Indianapolis Colts led from wire-to-wire against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The Colts much needed 41-10 victory puts them into a tie for first place in the AFC South.

It was a three prong attack for the Colts on Monday Night Football. Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, and Dwayne Allen combined to eviscerate the Jets secondary and head home with a much needed dominating victory.

Allen, who had been in a slump, showed up in the first half to score three touchdowns. On two such plays, Allen was so wide open that anyone in the NFL or state of Indiana could have caught Luck’s passes. Allen finished the night with four receptions for 72 yards and three touchdowns.

Hilton made the Jets secondary look foolish tonight, and that included Darrelle Revis. Hilton torched the Jets to the tune of nine receptions for 146 yards.

Luck’s outstanding night came after he missed the Thanksgiving game due to a concussion. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns.

The fourth TD went to Donte Moncrief, who had a quiet night with just four receptions for 26 yards. He did have a number of impressive grabs, including one that appeared to be a throw away by Luck that Moncrief somehow managed to pull down inbounds to keep an early drive alive.

The Colts starters made short work of the Jets, and an early touchdown in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter by Robert Turbin ended the night for most of the starters. Understandable with a 41-3 lead.

Defensively, the Colts made life hell for Ryan Fitzpatrick and gave Bryce Petty a rough start to his career. Mike Adams and Darius Butler both came away with an interception.

Adam Vinatieri shook off his recent struggles to hit two field goals, including one from 53 yards out.

It was a night of minor and major records for the Colts as well. Moncrief caught a touchdown in his fifth straight game, first for a Colt since Reggie Wayne in 2009. Hilton passed Marvin Harrison for most 100-yard by a Colts receiver in the first five seasons of his career.

The biggest record belonged to Frank Gore, who passed Tony Dorsett in rushing yardage to move into eighth all-time. Gore finished his night with 79 yards on 20 attempts.

Up next, the Colts are set to host the Houston Texans in a game that could decide who takes home the division title and earns a playoff berth.
