Andrew Luck admits he was not 'very good' in 2015, even before injuries

The 2015 season was a sheer disaster for the Indianapolis Colts. They missed the playoffs for just the second time since 2002, largely due to the fact that Andrew Luck only played seven games after suffering a kidney injury. However, even before Luck went down, the Colts weren't good.

They were only 2-5 with him as the starter and finished 8-8. It was by far the worst statistical season of Luck's young career, and he admits that.

"Injuries aside, I was not playing very good football -- before they happened," Luck said via ProFootballTalk. "I've got to be better. Toward my last couple games I felt like I was playing much better, trending in the right direction."

Just how bad was Luck? He threw the 12th-most interceptions (15) in the league despite playing only seven games, had a career-low 74.9 passer rating, and completed just 55.3 percent of his passes.

There's no doubting that the Colts are better with Luck on the field -- he's a perennial Pro Bowler when healthy, but he was clearly uncharacteristically bad. And if he remains healthy in 2016, he'll need to drastically improve his play from last season. Not that that should be an issue for him.
