Report: Texans bring back 'Hard Knocks' star

Published Sep. 30, 2015 1:13 p.m. ET

One of the stars of this summer's 'Hard Knocks' is reportedly getting a second chance with the Houston Texans.

Per ESPN's Tania Ganguli the Texans have re-signed linebacker Kourtnei Brown to the active roster. Brown fills the roster spot left open by offensive lineman Jeff Adams, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Week 2 loss against the Carolina Panthers.

Brown, whose efforts to make the team were chronicled on 'Hard Knocks,' was cut at the end of the preseason after recording eight tackles and three sacks.

The 6-foot-4, 253-pound Brown was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being released by the Texans, but was cut by the Buccaneers Sept. 22 and later signed to the team's practice squad.
