Heisman winner Derrick Henry still doesn't know what number he'll wear with Titans

Derrick Henry might have been allowed to wear No. 2 when he starred at Alabama, but that’s going to change now he’s with the Tennessee Titans.

It’s not because the team doesn’t want to accommodate the reigning Heisman Trophy winner. Per NFL rules, running backs need to wear a double-digit number, something between 20-49.

So what’s Henry’s second choice? No. 24, but that’s been taken by veteran cornerback Perrish Cox, who gave his former number -- 29 -- to DeMarco Murray after a little negotiating.

But Cox doesn’t seem too tied to his current number, giving Henry, who's been wearing No. 2 in the preseason, a glimmer of hope that 24 will eventually be his.

"We're just trying to wait and see what numbers come available," Henry said, via ESPN. "If a number comes available that [Cox] wants, then we'll try to work something out.

"We're still not sure yet, we just have to wait. I'm anxious too to find out what number I will wear."
