Greg Olsen: Time with Cam Newton has been 'best four years' of career

It's pretty safe to assume that Greg Olsen is a happy man after the 2015 offseason. Not only did he get a three-year extension back in March, but his quarterback, Cam Newton just signed on for the long haul with the Carolina Panthers as well. With the two paired up for years to come, it's kept Olsen in a great mood, according to David Newton of ESPN.

Newton reports that Olsen actually sent his quarterback a text after he signed his five-year extension, saying the following:

“I said, ‘Hey, man. All joking aside it seems like hopefully you’re going to be the last quarterback I ever play with,’ ’’ Carolina’s Pro Bowl tight end said following Monday’s practice.

It's not a surprise that Olsen is loving life playing with Newton, as he's put up some impressive numbers and become one of the more consistent tight ends in the NFL.

“I’m happy to be able to say that. I’ve really enjoyed my four years with him. They’ve been the best four years of my career. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.’’ Olsen told ESPN.

Well, Greg, the good news is that you have a few more years (at least) to pair up with Newton for big plays, and I'm sure almost all Carolina Panther fans are happy to see both players earn extensions this offseason.
