Green Bay Packers DL Mike Daniels is on the rise

If the Green Bay Packers need someone to step up on the defensive line this season, they need not look further than Mike Daniels.

Daniels has experienced steady improvement in each of his three NFL seasons. He was a fourth-round draft pick in 2012 and became a full-time starter last season. Jason Wilde of ESPN Wisconsin identifies him as a player who's on the rise.

"Mike's one of the hardest workers we have. He's got a great defensive temperament. He's strong. He's explosive," Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said, via ESPN. "We hope he can just pick up where he left off last year."

Daniels finished the 2014 season with 5.5 sacks, the team's third-highest total and the most among defensive linemen. He also set a career high for tackles with 41.

Now heading into a contract year, Daniels has the potential to earn a big payday this season.
