Green Bay Packers are high on 4th-round LB Jake Ryan

The Green Bay Packers struggled to hold things together at inside linebacker last season, but they may have found a key contributor at the position in fourth-round selection Jake Ryan out of Michigan. Packers director of player personnel Eliot Wolf, for one, is very high on Ryan's ability.

"The instincts are something that really stand out," Wolf told Tyler Dunne of the Journal Sentinel about Ryan. "He can get through traffic, he can make plays on the outside, he can penetrate and make plays on the inside run. Pretty good in coverage, kind of an all-around guy that we felt adds really good value to our team."

Because of his ability to play the run and the pass, Wolf believes Ryan can be an every-down linebacker for the Packers, according to the Journal Sentinel. Even though the team has high hopes for him, Ryan isn't allowing the pressure to get to him.

"You can't feel the pressure," said Ryan, according to the Journal Sentinel. "You have to go in every single day, compete, work as hard as you can, learn the playbook, learn everything you can, ask questions. That's what I'm doing right now."

In four seasons at Michigan, Ryan recorded 267 tackles, 45.5 of which were for a loss. He also had 9.5 sacks, an interception and seven forced fumbles.
