Aaron Rodgers returns with first TD pass of 2016

Published Aug. 26, 2016 11:57 p.m. ET

Aaron Rodgers finally made his preseason debut Friday night against the San Francisco 49ers, and while the Green Bay Packers QB didn't play long, he played long enough to do what he does best: throw a touchdown pass.

Rodgers' top target Jordy Nelson remained sidelined, but the All-Pro QB found Randall Cobb in the flat, and the veteran receiver did the rest.

Rodgers finished 6 of 9 for 60 yards, and coach Mike McCarthy told NFL Network that he saw enough from him in that short stint.

Backup Brett Hundley also remained sidelined with a sprained left ankle, but third-stringer Joe Callahan threw a third-quarter TD in relief.
