Jets QB Geno Smith reportedly suffered torn ACL

A precautionary MRI for New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has revealed the worst: a torn ACL, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Midway through the second quarter of the Jets-Ravens game on Sunday, the 26-year-old Smith, making his first start since December 2014, got taken down by Baltimore's Matthew Judon while attempting to escape a sack.

Smith's right knee got twisted and he was forced out of the game, but remained optimistic that the injury was not serious. Meanwhile, Jets legend Joe Namath publicly criticized Smith, eliciting a response from the QB.

Ryan Fitzpatrick entered the game in relief of Smith after getting demoted for his terrible performance against the Cardinals last week. After the 24-16 victory over the Ravens, Fitzpatrick couldn't help but take a dig at the organization for "losing faith" in him. He appears to be the 2-5 Jets' starting QB moving forward, though Bryce Petty and rookie Christian Hackenberg will be waiting in the wings.

Somehow, the Jets won the game and Smith, Fitzpatrick and Namath all lost.
