Domenik Hixon tears ACL again, won't make Bears debut

Published May. 28, 2014 4:58 p.m. ET

Veteran wide receiver Domenik Hixon's career with the Chicago Bears is over before it ever started.

Hixon announced on Tuesday via his Facebook page that he has torn his ACL for the third time. He previously tore his right ACL in 2010 and 2011.

Tuesday's post appeared to indicate that the latest injury could signal the end to his six season NFL career.

The 29-year-old signed a one-year, $740,000 contract with the Bears in March after one season with the Carolina Panthers.

Hixon spent most of his career with the New York Giants. He won two Super Bowls, though he ended the team's 2012 title run on injured reserve after his second ACL tear.
