Dolphins cut defensive tackle call up wide-receiver

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Miami Dolphins made a couple of moves on Wednesday as they swapped out a couple of players.

Joining the Dolphins 53 man roster is wide-receiver Rashawn Scott as reported earlier by the Miami Herald. Scott has been on the Dolphins practice squad all season. He also spent training camp with Miami as well.

Scott’s call up is due to the back injury and subsequent uncertainty surrounding DeVante Parker. Parker was injured last Sunday when he fell awkwardly making a catch. The catch was ruled incomplete on replay.

The Dolphins won’t have to make a roster move to open a spot for Scott. The Dolphins released defensive tackle Leon Orr after Orr was arrested on Tuesday for possession of marijuana and THC. Both were found in Orr’s back-pack according to police reports.

The former undrafted lineman played last season in Oakland before joining Miami this off-season. According to the Dolphins, Orr was released immediately after the team was notified of the arrest. He was active for five games in 2016 but was inactive last week against San Francisco.

It’s unknown if Parker will be out on Sunday, a pivotal game against the leagues number two overall defense.
