Do Dave Gettleman's recent statements mean Carolina may wait to draft a receiver?

According to Kevin Patra from NFL.com, Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman has strong feelings about the depth at wide receiver in the 2015 NFL draft. Gettleman was quoted as saying that last year's group was "unique" but that this year's class is deeper.

"I think we're going to find in time that last year's group was unique, I really do," he said at his pre-draft news conference. "There's all shapes and sizes, all different styles. I think there's even more depth in this year's group that last year's group, which sounds crazy. ... Part of that is a function of the college game. This group is no different. I don't know that there's a Kelvin (Benjamin) or Michael (Evans) guy this year but there's good, big receivers. There's more depth throughout than there was last year."

While the upcoming draft is loaded with wide receiver talent, it's still very unclear as to whether or not the Panthers will use a first, or even a second round pick on the position. What is known, is that Carolina is very much in the market for someone to pair up with Kelvin Benjamin. Another weapon in the passing game for Cam Newton wouldn't hurt either.

Now comes the always fun waiting game, as the above quote from Gettleman means we very well may see Carolina sit back and wait on drafting a receiver this coming weekend. Only time will tell.
