Gary Kubiak knows who he'll start at running back on Sunday night.
The head coach just doesn't want to tell reporters and, indirectly, the Detroit Lions.
“We’re playing a lot of guys,” Kubiak told reporters. “They’re going to both play. C.J. (Anderson) did some good things in the game. Ronnie (Hillman) did some good things in the game.”
Hillman (21 carries for 75 yards) has looked like a marginally better back. But Anderson (24 carries for 56 yards) has been hobbled the first few games. Neither running back looks like a three-down player.
When he took the job, Kubiak reportedly hoped he'd mold another Arian Foster or Justin Forsett. Instead, he's swearing by a committee approach.
“I think there’s some times that, as a back, when things aren’t good, you’ve still got to find a way to make things happen,” Kubiak said. “We’re all in this together. Like I said, they’re both going to be very much involved with what we do.”
