HOF QB Kelly: 'There's no doubt' Brady knew about Deflategate

The NFL owners meetings may be over, but one topic in the sport refuses to go away.

Yup, Deflategate.

The latest person to voice his opinion on the subject is former Buffalo Bills quarterback and Hall of Famer Jim Kelly. So it's safe to say the guy knows a thing or two about playing quarterback and handling footballs.

Appearing with a panel on CBS Sports' "We Need to Talk," Kelly made it clear whether he thinks Tom Brady knew the balls were being underinflated before last season's AFC Championship Game.

"There's no doubt. . . . There's no way that an equipment manager in the National Football League is going to do something to the football without the greatest quarterback ever to play knowing that, 'hey, I did something to this football, but he doesn't know about it.' He knew it."

But Kelly also made two other interesting points: 1) Even though Brady knew about the underinflated balls, he didn't need to do it. And 2) A point that many people have made, should the air pressure in footballs even be regulated? Why not let each team play with the balls inflated however they like?

Of course, the quarterback may want to check with the running back before messing with the balls, too, if you listen to Kelly. After all, he handed off to a Hall of Fame running back, too.
