After adding running backs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles will need to think of creative ways to keep Darren Sproles involved in the offense. It appears they have already concocted one plan. The Eagles have been mixing in Sproles at wide receiver during OTA and mini-camp practices.
According to beat writer Tucker Bagley, during spring practices, Sproles worked with wide receivers during individual drills more than he ever has in the past.
"[The coaches] really want me to learn both positions," said Sproles, per Philadelphia Magazine. "So they wanted [me] to work on my route running and some things like that."
Sproles is a mismatch in space, and if the Eagles can effectively figure out a personnel package that includes he and one of Murray or Mathews, they can be even more dangerous on offense in 2015.
