11 reasons why Cowboys fans have every right to brag

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:15 p.m. ET

The Dallas Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl in nearly two decades, but somehow they still remain as one of the most polarizing teams in the NFL.

Twenty five years after owner Jerry Jones purchased the team for $140 million, he has built a football empire and multi-billion dollar business in the heart of Texas. The success came quick for Jones as the Cowboys won Super Bowls in 1992, 1993 and again in 1995. Since then, Dallas has won just two playoff games.

Coming into this past season, in which Dallas won the NFC East, they had finished 8-8 three straight seasons.

Jones detailed how agonizing the mediocrity had been to the Dallas Morning News.

"As I sit here after 25 years, the thing that bothers me most is that after the excellent blast-off, the excellent start, we haven't gotten another Super Bowl," Jones told the newspaper. "More than one.

"That's where we get, and should receive, criticism."

From the stars on their helmets to the over-the-top crown jewel in Arlington sometimes referred as Jerry's World, nothing about the Cowboys is ordinary. And that's by design. Jones has built a brand that's as recognizable as McDonalds or Coca-Cola.

While the product on the field could be on the upswing after winning their first NFC East title in five seasons, here are 11 other reasons why Cowboys' fans have every right to brag:

1. Everything is bigger ... including the four-sided HD scoreboard

2. The long lineage of fine quarterback play

3. The NFL recognizes the Cowboys as America's team

4. A star-studded fan base

5. Five Lombardi Trophies

7. Most valuable team in the NFL ($2.3B), according to Forbes

8.The Herschel Walker Trade

9. Home of the all-time rushing leader, Emmitt Smith
