The Dallas Cowboys were counting on production from their second-round pick DeMarcus Lawrence. Now, his impact may be delayed.

According to multiple reports, the defensive end will miss more than eight weeks after suffering an injury Tuesday. Citing sources, multiple outlets say Lawrence has a broken right foot.

Lawrence was reportedly injured during a pass-rush drill in which he landed awkwardly after his foot appeared to get caught. According to ESPN, he remained on the ground for a few minutes before limping off the field and then was transported on a cart.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Lawrence underwent X-rays on Tuesday evening.

That report says that owner Jerry Jones was asked if he was concerned and responded: "I want to see the X-ray. But the answer would be yes. Hopefully, it will be OK."
