Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has the Chicago Bears pinned inside of their own 5-yard line, but special teamer Jordan Todman decided to mess everything up.

The Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears are two of the worst teams in the NFL in 2016. Indianapolis’ roster is one of the worst in football thanks to bad front office moves by general manager Ryan Grigson. The Bears have been rebuilding for five years and little is working in the Windy City.

It’s one thing to be poorly built, but it’s another to play foolishly to cost your team a big play. Colts punter Pat McAfee nails a great punt that should have put the Bears inside their own five-yard line. Special teamer Jordan Todman got ahead of himself and cost McAfee a great punt with a touchback.

The punted ball by McAfee was going to stop inside the Bears’ five-yard line on its own accord. Todman decided that it was his duty to keep the ball out of the end zone to prevent a touchback. Well, he got in his own way and forced the touchback for the Bears.

The Colts don’t have many elite players, but McAfee is one of the better punters in the NFL. Just let him do his job and the Colts’ horrid defense won’t have to start in lousy field position. Todman’s impulsiveness cost the Colts 20 yards.

For a defense that struggles to stop anybody, getting the Bears buried deep in their territory would have been ideal. Instead, the Colts had to start on the Chicago 25-yard line defensively.

McAfee is the type of punter that can help your team win games. What Todman did has to have Colts head coach Chuck Pagano questioning his special teamer’s judgement. That was a perfect McAfee punt that Todman completely ruined.
