Colts Inactives at Jets: T.Y. Hilton, Denzelle Good Will Play on Primetime

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

The Indianapolis Colts announced their inactive players for Monday night’s game against the New York Jets, which includes CB Patrick Robinson, S Clayton Geathers, LB Deon King, OT Le’Raven Clark, OC/OG Austin Blythe, OLB Lavar Edwards, and OLB Robert Mathis:

While three defensive starters Robinson (groin), Geathers (neck), and Mathis (bicep) were already ruled out earlier this weekend, the encouraging news is that two offensive starters who were listed as ‘questionable’, T.Y. Hilton (back) and Denzelle Good (shoulder), appear good to go on primetime.

Hilton has shined so far this season for the Colts, catching 60 receptions for 942 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns and should draw coverage duties at times from future Hall of Fame cornerback Darrelle Revis–who’s struggled mightily this year.

Meanwhile, Good has made mistakes in his 2nd-year, but he’s also shown occasional flashes of his immense potential at 6’5″, 355 pounds at starting right guard and should help the offensive line’s continuity.

In Robinson and Geathers’ absence, expect backup cornerback Rashaan Melvin to start on the other side of Vontae Davis, while rookie T.J. Green should start alongside veteran safety Mike Adams–with nickelback Darius Butler also being potentially deployed at safety in obvious passing situations.

Filling in for Mathis, the Colts activated veteran pass rusher Trent Cole off injured reserve earlier this week, and it looks as though veteran Akeem Ayers and undrafted rookie Curt Maggitt could also heavily factor in as rotational pass rushers with Lavar Edwards as a healthy scratch.

Otherwise, rookie defensive lineman Hassan Ridgeway (back)–also listed as ‘questionable’ looks like he’ll be healthy enough to play tonight and should join the Colts defensive line rotation.

Lastly, King, Clark, and Blythe look like they join Edwards as healthy inactives for tonight’s game due to overall positional needs.
