Report: Johnny Manziel fined for showing up late to treatment

The Cleveland Browns' "franchise" quarterback gave a new meaning to the term Johnny-come-lately.

Johnny Manziel, who was placed on the season-ending Injured Reserve this week, was fined by the club for showing up late to treatment Saturday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.

The fine came on the same day the team suspended much-maligned wide receiver Josh Gordon for a violation of team rules.

Earlier this week, Manziel declared he needed to take a different approach to his career after only playing seven quarters during his rookie season

"I have to take this a lot more seriously. It's a job for me now," Manziel said on Tuesday. "I'm not the Johnny Manziel that came in here a year ago. It's been a year of growing up for me."

Manziel's final season tallies include 18-of-35 passing for 175 yards, with zero touchdowns, two interceptions and one fumble.
