Chip Kelly had minor issue with Jordan Matthews' routine during his rookie season

Those who play for Chip Kelly will do things the Chip Kelly way. When Kelly notices something in your practice habits that he disagrees with, if you're smart and you want to remain an Philadelphia Eagle, you will correct it. Second year wide receiver Jordan Matthews experienced this first hand during his rookie season under Kelly.

During practices during his rookie season, whenever Matthews caught a ball, he would automatically take off in a sprint toward the end zone, even when the play was whistled dead. Kelly was not a fan.

"In football, the play ends on a whistle," Kelly said, per Philadelphia Magazine. "So when the whistle blows, stop running. That was the conversation."

Suffice to say, Matthews made the change and got back into Kelly's good graces. He would go on to find the end zone for real on eight separate occasions in 2014.
