Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco has gone back on his word to wrangle a snake — but said Saturday he will wrestle an alligator some time in the next couple of weeks instead.

NFL players find new ways to pass the time without football.

The adventurous 33-year-old, whose NFL offseason activities have included trialling with a Major League Soccer team and riding a bull, told WXIX-TV his latest pursuit was a bid to "one-up" Bengals owner Mike Brown, who jokingly suggested Ochocinco's next stunt would be snake wrangling.

"In Okeechobee [Fla.], I am wrestling alligators. Actually, catching them in the wild, which is going to be really interesting, I am catching them in the wild," Ochocinco said, following a training session with the University of Cincinnati.

"Don't laugh, like I am serious and you'll see it. And I am living life.

"It's pretty dangerous, I could lose an arm, lose a leg, you know ... so was bull riding. So the chance of me getting hurt on the bull is similar to the chance as me winning the lottery, slim to none. And the same thing with alligators. If he bites me, I can still play with one arm [because] I can kick, seriously."
