Three players who filled up the box score in Week 15

Week 15 in the NFL had plenty of heart-stopping moments, and now it's time to salute the statistical standouts who made them happen. Featured this week are a dual-threat quarterback, an extremely productive wide receiver and a running back who specializes in pass catching.

Cam Newton, quarterback, Carolina Panthers

There was no stopping Newton on Sunday, as he led the Panthers to a 38-35 win over the New York Giants. With starting running back Jonathan Stewart out and go-to tight end Greg Olsen playing hurt, Newton racked up 340 passing yards and added 100 more on the ground. He threw five touchdown passes and no interceptions, weathering several big hits along the way. With 45 pass attempts and eight rushing attempts, the dual-threat quarterback was pretty much Carolina’s entire offense against the Giants. It worked in Week 15, as the Panthers moved to 14-0 on the season.

Antonio Brown, wide receiver, Pittsburgh Steelers

Brown had another eye-popping day as his Steelers beat the Denver Broncos, 34-27, and he contributed a whopping 16 receptions for 189 yards and two touchdowns. His first TD, a nine-yarder from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, cut Denver’s third-quarter lead to seven points. Then, with 3:34 left in the fourth quarter, Brown caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Roethlisberger that would stand as the game-winning score.

Danny Woodhead, running back, San Diego Chargers

From a yardage standpoint, Woodhead’s day wasn’t that impressive. He touched the ball 14 times for only 60 yards -- including eight carries for 10 rushing yards -- but the scat back couldn’t be kept out of the end zone. He scored one rushing touchdown and three receiving touchdowns, lifting the Chargers to a 30-14 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. It was a heroic day for Woodhead, who helped deliver what may have been the franchise’s final victory in the city of San Diego.
