Cam Newton makes a Tom Brady Deflategate joke
By Steve DelVecchio
Tom Brady is getting set for his appeal hearing in front of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell this week, which means Deflategate will be making its way back into the news. Although, Cam Newton did his best to get the scandal to resurface last week.
While throwing some passes at his QB Skills Challenge on Friday before the IMG NFA 7v7 National Championship in Bradenton, Fla., Newton took a swipe at Brady.
“What is this, Tom Brady?” Newton said, presumably after being given a ball that felt underinflated.
Personally, I feel like Newton was planning to make that joke regardless. And while it’s fun to bag on Brady like everyone else, the Carolina Panthers quarterback should be careful about trying to make a mockery of players who play the same position as him and have won four Super Bowls.
Then again, I guess Deflategate is fair game if the President of the United States can joke about it.
