Is it panic time in Buffalo?

FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo confirmed on Friday that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins underwent offseason hip surgery. However, it was an arthroscopic cleanup and he's expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. Watkins suffered the injury during a Week 13 game against the Browns, but didn't miss any time.

The team will manage his recovery during OTAs and minicamp and it hasn't been decided if he will be limited or will sit out practices. That decision will come when the team gathers for spring workouts later this month.

Watkins -- who was selected with the No. 4 pick of last year's draft -- is coming off a solid rookie season. He caught 65 passes for 982 yards -- both Bills' rookie records -- and six touchdowns. He started all 16 games.
