Bills sign KR Marcus Thigpen, cut Boom Herron and Denarius Moore

The Buffalo Bills have been searching for a return man since Percy Harvin went down, and the shuffling continued on Wednesday.

The team announced that they've brought back wide receiver and kick returner Marcus Thigpen. They also signed guard Ryan Groy to the active roster, cutting running back Boom Herron and wideout Denarius Moore to counteract the moves.

Thigpen had been with the Bills since 2014 before being cut by Buffalo earlier in the season. He was then signed by the Oakland Raiders, but was later released. He figures to take over as the team's primary kick returner, as he already took reps with the first unit in practice on Wednesday.

Leodis McKelvin has been the Bills' punt returner over the past three games, but he fumbled against the New England Patriots on Monday night, so Thigpen could also see time there.

Groy was an undrafted free agent of the Chicago Bears in 2014 but last played for the Patriots. He's started three career games, and was likely added for depth with starting guard John Miller injured.
