Glazer: Merriman returns to Bills
Free-agent linebacker Shawne Merriman has agreed to a new deal with the Buffalo Bills, FOXSports.com has learned.
The Bills brought Merriman in for a workout on Monday as they were searching for someone to take the place of defensive end Mark Anderson, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Merriman did play some defensive end during his first stint in Buffalo, which ended on Aug. 20 when he was released.
Merriman, who originally came to the Bills in 2010, dealt with multiple injuries in over two seasons with the team. He previously starred for the San Diego Chargers from 2005-10, garnering several accolades along the way.
He was named the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2005, selected to the Pro Bowl three times and tabbed as a three-time All-Pro.
