Browns sign rookie RB Terrance West
BEREA, Ohio (AP) The Browns have signed rookie running back Terrance West.
A third-round selection in last month's draft, West's four-year deal is worth approximately $2.8 million. West posted a photo on his Instagram account of him signing the deal.
The Browns selected West with the 94th overall pick. The muscular 5-foot-10, 225-pounder rushed for 2,509 yards and 42 touchdowns last season for Towson. He finished with 4,854 career rushing yards and 86 TDs. West recorded 23 100-yard rushing games, including six 200-yard games.
He took snaps with Cleveland's first-team offense in practice on Wednesday as Ben Tate was kept out of 11-on-11 drills with an unspecified injury.
The Browns have now signed three of their six draft picks. The club still has to work out deals with quarterback Johnny Manziel, cornerback Justin Gilbert and offensive guard Joel Bitonio.
