Broncos vs. Bengals: Thursday Injury Report

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

We take a look at the second released injury report for both the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals ahead of Sunday’s game.

We are just three days away from game day Broncos Country! The Denver Broncos will be playing in their first road game of the season on Sunday. It is going to be an early one for the mountain time zone fans (11 AM MT) and further west.

The first of four early games this season, the Broncos will be traveling to the Queen City of Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The last time these two teams met, they gave us quite a game with Demarcus Ware recovering a fumble to seal the game in overtime.

We all know the Broncos came out of the Indianapolis Colts game a bit banged up. Demarcus Ware will not be playing after surgery on his forearm. Virgil Green is day-to-day with a calf injury and Donald Stephenson’s calf injury will keep him out of the lineup for a couple weeks.

But how do the rest of the Denver Broncos look after Thursday’s practice? And what about the Cincinnati Bengals players?

Let us take a look at this week’s updated injury report.

For the Denver Broncos, other than the three I have already listed, the list remains almost the same. The only improvement in status was inside linebacker Corey Nelson, who did not participate on Wednesday to practicing on a limited basis on Thursday.

The only injury concern for me is tight end Virgil Green’s status. He did not participate in practice on Thursday. And with how slim the Broncos are at tight end (Jeff Heuerman and John Phillips are the only other active tight ends on the roster) it could be an issue when Sunday rolls around.

If Green does not practice on Friday, it is most likely he will be sitting this game out. With Jeff Heuerman a full go at practice today, he is on track to play on Sunday. Hopefully he can contribute.

For the Cincinnati Bengals, the only key injury for them is tight end Tyler Eifert who was limited in practice for the second straight day with an ankle injury. It will be interesting to see what his status is for Sunday’s game.

We will check back in on Friday and see what the injury report looks like for the game on Sunday. Hopefully some good news will be presented with the Broncos on Friday.
