Ex-NFL receiver Edwards reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI

Former NFL wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who last played in the league for the New York Jets in 2012, was arrested last week in Arizona on suspicion of DUI, TMZ Sports reported.

Edwards was stopped in the early morning hours of May 4 and his blood-alcohol level was above .20, more than twice the legal limit and considered an "extreme DUI" in Scottsdale, according to the report.

This is the second time in the past five years that Edwards has been arrested and charged with DUI. His last incident came in 2010. Edwards was also the subject of an investigation stemming from the physical attack of a reporter in 2013.

The fourth overall pick of the Cleveland Browns back in 2005, Edwards' career got off to a strong start. He recorded nearly 3,700 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns in four-plus seasons with the Browns before being shipped off to the Jets during the 2009 season. But it was all downhill from there. After putting up 900 yards for the Jets in 2010, Edwards played for three teams over the next two years, accumulating a total of 33 receptions. He’s been out of the league since.
