Bengals' Eifert healthy and hungry entering third season

Tyler Eifert is hoping for a big year after seeing only eight snaps for the Bengals in 2014.

The third-year tight end says he's fully recovered from offseason surgeries on his dislocated right elbow and torn labrum in his left shoulder. He was held out of some 11-on-11 work during the team's minicamp last week, but he looked sharp when he was on the field.

"I’m one hundred percent," Eifert told WANE-TV. "I’m good to go. We just finished minicamp and it felt good to be back out there running around. It feels good to be healthy again."

Eifert, drafted 21st overall in 2013, was off to a quick start before his gruesome elbow injury in the season opener in Baltimore. He caught three balls for 37 yards in the eight snaps he played, following up a rookie campaign that saw him record 39 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns.

Now that he's healthy, he's hoping to make a big impact as the team's No. 1 tight end with Jermaine Gresham now out of the picture.

"I’m hoping for a big year," said Eifert. “We have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Hopefully we can put it together and I can be one of those pieces that helps us win games."
