Bengals DE Domata Peko actually called the Steelers 'pieces of bleep'

When last we saw the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, they were locked in an ugly, personal foul-ridden fight to the finish in the AFC playoffs, so it’s not surprising that even an entire offseason hasn’t cooled their bitter rivalry.

During an event in London this week to promote the NFL’s three games there this season – Cincinnati plays Washington in England on Oct. 30 – Bengals defensive end Domata Peko was asked to complete the sentence, “the Pittsburgh Steelers are …” and he finished strong – sort of.

“Pieces of bleep,” he said, via USA Today, censoring his word choice, if not the idea of the Steelers being the enemy.

A follow-up question allowed Peko to get more to the point:

“Oh, we hate them. For us, each time we play the Steelers, the whole city is like ‘Beat these fools’ and whenever we beat them, it is a big party in Cincinnati. It’s a big rivalry for us.”

Pity for English fans that they won’t see these two teams renew hostilities on Sept. 18 in Pittsburgh and Dec. 18 in Cincinnati. Sounds like things could get pretty nasty again.
