Back injury to keep Colts LB Cole out of game vs. Broncos
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Colts say Indianapolis outside linebacker Trent Cole didn't travel with the team and will miss Sunday's game at Denver with a back injury.
Cole didn't practice all week and was listed as doubtful for the game. He is likely to be replaced by veteran Akeem Ayers as the backup outside linebacker.
It's another blow to Indy's banged-up defense . The Colts (0-1) had already ruled out starting cornerbacks Vontae Davis with an injured ankle and Patrick Robinson with a concussion. Starting safety T.J. Green also won't play after spraining his right knee in last week's loss to Detroit.
Starting Defensive end Kendall Langford (knee), who played in his 129th consecutive game last weekend, is listed as questionable.
