Chris, David Johnson give Cardinals offense another dimension

The Cardinals run game is far improved from last season, in part due to Chris Johnson and rookie David Johnson, plus an offensive line that has exceeded expectations thus far.

Following a Week 1 performance that saw the team gain 120 yards rushing, the Cardinals totaled 115 in Week 2.

Both Johnson's did their part: Chris rushed for 72 yards, while David finished with 45, plus a 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game.

“We did a really good job just coming out and being patient and running the ball when we needed to and were effective with the run game,” Carson Palmer said, via ESPN

In turn, the success via the ground opened up the passing game for Palmer and his playmakers on the outside.

It's only two weeks into the regular season, but the early returns are positive for an offense that was essentially one-dimensional all of last season.
