Aaron Hernadez is facing a new charge in connection to the 2012 double murder in Boston’s South End.

The former New England Patriots tight end has been indicted for shooting a former friend in the face in Florida in 2013, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office told the Boston Globe on Monday. Hernandez has been charged under the state’s witness intimidation statute.

Hernandez allegedly shot his former associate Alexander Bradley in the eye on the morning of Feb. 13, 2013, and left him on the side of the road to die in Rivera Beach, Fla. Bradley was in the car with Hernandez the night of the 2012 drive-by shooting in Boston, according to prosecutors. Bradley is expected to be a key witness for the upcoming double-murder trial.

The DA’s office didn’t release the name of the shooting victim, but it’s clear it’s Bradley as he filed a civil suit against Hernandez for the shooting.

Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd last month.
