The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran free-agent quarterback Vince Young to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.

IT'S ON NOW

Seats are getting warm thanks to a crazy NFL offseason. Find out who is under pressure.

The former Eagles and Titans signal caller agreed to a $2 million deal with an additional $1 million in playing time incentives, according to ESPN.com.

"We think adding Vince to our roster will create more competition for the backup quarterback position," Bills General Manager Buddy Nix told the team's website. "He brings with him some unique physical abilities that most are aware of and that will make the competition interesting."

Young will compete with veterans Tyler Thigpen and Brad Smith for the primary backup spot behind starter Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Young, who turns 29 next week, struggled in six appearances for Philadelphia last season, throwing four touchdowns compared to nine interceptions.

The former third overall pick out of Texas spent the first five years of his career in Tennessee, but eventually lost his starting job after falling out of favor with then-Titans head coach Jeff Fisher.
