Offense

Two things must improve for the offense ¿ controlling the ball on the ground and avoiding turnovers. Both of those problems were addressed in the off-season. RB provides Dan Henning with a foundation to build around on the ground. They should avoid the problem they encountered with turnovers with joining at quarterback. The offensive line remains a big question mark.

Defense

Defense is what Carolina is all about. They have an outstanding front seven, certainly one of the best young groups in the league. is developing into an elite interior presence. is dominant coming off the perimeter. Look for to make a name for himself on the weakside. The one question is whether they can cover their limitations in the secondary for another season. The front seven certainly boosts their coverage efforts. But the need to generate more turnovers against the pass.

Special Teams

Expect solid production here. The kicking game will be effective and they have the makings of a productive return game. The coverage teams should keep opponents pinned back.

Coaching

John Fox is on his way towards establishing himself as one of the NFL¿s top head coaches. He has the playing with a purpose. Overall, Fox has a very fundamentally sound coaching staff.

The Bottom Line

This is a dangerous team. Anything could happen with their defense and special teams. They¿ll keep games close and could be the sleeper team of the year if the ball bounces their way. Ultimately, their limitations could hold them at six to eight wins.
