RB Ryan Torain inactive as Redskins host Patriots

LANDOVER, Md. (AP)

Running back Ryan Torain is inactive for the first time this season Sunday as the Washington Redskins hosted the New England Patriots.

Torain started four games earlier this year but has fallen to third on the depth chart behind rookies Roy Helu and Evan Royster.

Also inactive for the Redskins are safety LaRon Landry, receiver Terrence Austin, linebacker Markus White, offensive lineman Erik Cook and defensive linemen Chris Baker and Kentwan Balmer.

Patriots starting safety Patrick Chung misses his fifth consecutive game with a foot injury.

Also inactive for New England are defensive lineman Gerard Warren, quarterback Ryan Mallett, running back Shane Vereen, linebacker Brandon Spikes and offensive linemen Dan Connolly and Sebastian Vollmer.
