Panthers RB Williams inactive with bruised quad

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)

Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is inactive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a bruised quadriceps.

Jonathan Stewart will get the start Sunday for Carolina (8-3) in his place, and rookie running back Kenjon Barner is active and expected to play.

Other inactives for Carolina: defensive end Charles Johnson, linebacker Chase Blackburn, tight end Ben Hartsock, guard Chris Scott, and wide receivers Marvin McNutt and Tavarres King.

Cornerback Darrelle Revis is active and will start for Tampa Bay (3-8).

Inactive for Tampa Bay are wide receiver Skye Dawson, running back Lonnie Pryor, safety Bradley McDougald, guards Patrick Omameh and Carl Nicks, defensive tackle Derek Landri and defensive end Steven Means.
