Cold weather and high ticket prices may be keeping fans from NFL games, but that's just cementing the league's dominance of the airwaves.

NFL games accounted for the 26 most-watched sporting events last year, Sports Media Watch reported, with the Super Bowl between the Ravens and 49ers leading the way with 108.7 million viewers. Even the 34-minute blackout during the game drew 106 million viewers, making it the No. 2 most-watched event (though it was not counted by the SMW report).

Overall, 46 of the top 50 events were NFL games, joined by only Games 6 and 7 of the NBA Finals, the BCS Championship Game and the NCAA Tournament title game.
