needs 93 yards to run past Walter Payton and into the record books as the NFL¿s all-time leading rusher. The historic moment could come Sunday afternoon when Dallas hosts the Seattle at Texas Stadium. We asked running backs around the league their thoughts on Smith and what he¿s about to accomplish. We¿ll post what they had to say in the days leading up to Sunday¿s game. Today, we talk to San Diego's Ladainian Tomlinson. Tomlinson: ¿I don¿t know if I can put into words what I think of him as a running back. He¿s obviously, arguably, the greatest ever to play that position. What he brings on the field and off the field is tremendous.

¿I¿m very happy. I can¿t wait for him to break the record. I know it¿s something he¿s been after for a long time. To be one of the greatest, to have that record as your own, has got to be pretty great.

¿I¿ve talked to him a couple of times at the Doak Walker banquet and I called him on the phone before this season. I asked him what I could do to help myself this year, how to take care of my body, how to last throughout the whole season. He told me about how massages have helped and suggested I see a chiropractor.

¿I have heard a lot of people say that Emmitt and I have similar running styles. That¿s probably just because of our build and balance. I think we both have the ability to make people miss and run with a low center of gravity.

¿I think we do compare to each other in our size and build, but me and Emmitt both have different styles. But do I mind if people compare me to him? Not at all.¿¿
