NEW ORLEANS (AP)

The Saints have activated middle linebacker Jon Vilma for Sunday night's game against Detroit after he missed the past three games with a left knee injury, while the Lions have scratched defensive backs Chris Houston, Louis Delmas and Brandon McDonald.

Houston, a starting cornerback, had not practiced all week because of an injured left knee, while Delmas, a starting safety, has a right knee injury that kept him from practicing. Both had been listed as doubtful.

McDonald, a reserve cornerback, had been questionable after missing two practices with a thigh injury. Running back Kevin Smith is active despite a sore right ankle.

The Saints' only injury-related scratch is defensive end Turk McBride with his sore left ankle. Running back Chris Ivory is a healthy scratch.
