LB Brian Williams stays in Detroit, signs one-year deal

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP)

The Detroit re-signed linebacker , giving him a one-year contract. Williams, an unrestricted free agent, started the first three games last season. But he was sidelined after breaking his left leg Sept. 22. Green Bay drafted Williams in the third round in 1995, and he spent six seasons with the . He was with New Orleans and Detroit in 2001. Williams has played in 81 NFL games, including 61 as a starter. Financial terms of his contract were not disclosed.
