Jacksonville, FL (Sports Network) - Jacksonville defensive tackle was fined $5,000 Monday by the NFL for his hit on ' quarterback in a game on October 26. ' head coach Jack Del Rio had criticized the officiating on a pair of roughing-the-passer calls that went against Stroud during the 30-17 loss. However, Del Rio was not certain which of the hits Stroud was being fined for, but did feel that McNair was being protected because of his star status.

It is uncertain whether Stroud will appeal the fine.

Stroud has 29 solo tackles and 1.5 sacks in nine games this year.

The (2-7), who rallied to defeat Indianapolis this past Sunday for their second win of the season, will again oppose Tennessee next Sunday.
