There is no quarterback controversy in St. Louis, and there won't be unless gets hurt again. Coach Mike Martz made it clear again Saturday where he stands on the subject of starting quarterbacks, and it's on the side of Warner. A two-time MVP, Warner last year was 0-6 while playing through a variety of injuries, while third-stringer was 6-1 in relief. Nevertheless, that won't dissuade Martz, who tried to defuse any hint of controversy Saturday by making a commitment to Warner. "Kurt's our quarterback," he said, "and he will be our quarterback this year. If he fails to perform at the level we expect, obviously we'd have to make a change. But I don't feel like it's going to be a big issue to get Kurt back to his level." Warner last year suffered through shoulder and hand problems and finished the season on the sideline — never starting after a Dec. 1 loss to Philadelphia. He threw three touchdowns and 11 interceptions and finished with a career-low 67.4 passer rating. Bulger threw 14 touchdowns and six interceptions and finished with a 101.5 rating, which would have led the NFC if he had more attempts.
