GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)

Green Bay Packers defensive end Mike Neal is inactive for Thursday night's season opener against the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field.

Neal is returning from last year's season-ending shoulder injury, but has been hobbled in practice with a lingering knee injury. Jarius Wynn will start in his place.

Offensive lineman Derek Sherrod, the Packers' first-round draft pick, also is inactive.

As expected, wide receiver Lance Moore is inactive for New Orleans. Moore was ruled out Wednesday because of a groin injury. Defensive tackle Tom Johnson is out because of a calf injury.
