Colts take another injury hit with loss of Powers

The Indianapolis Colts have put starting cornerback Jerraud Powers on injured reserve with a broken right forearm and have re-signed running back Dominic Rhodes.

Coach Jim Caldwell confirmed that Powers had surgery Tuesday during a conference call with Tennessee reporters. He was hurt in the first half of Sunday's loss to Dallas and is the 14th Indy player to go on injured reserve this season.

Powers was fourth on the team with 53 tackles and second in interceptions with two.

To take his spot on the roster, Indy has re-signed Rhodes, who joined the team as an undrafted rookie in 2001. He played for the Colts from 2001-06 and again in 2008 after an ill-fated season with Oakland in 2007 and played in the UFL this year.
