SAN DIEGO (AP)

The Chargers and backup quarterback Billy Volek have agreed to a two-year contract Saturday.

Volek, 35, enters his sixth season with the club. He hasn't started for the Chargers, but after Philip Rivers was hurt against the Colts in the 2008 Divisional Playoffs, Volek replaced him and led the Chargers to the victory at Indianapolis.

Volek started 10 games for the Titans from 2003-05 and has a career passer rating of 84.9.
