The have trailed for a total of less than 13 minutes after four games this season. Despite not facing a true do-or-die situation, the prolific Oakland offense is too much for the Clutch Factor. , commanding a team that is averaging 461.5 yards and 40.5 points, takes over the top spot after winning a shootout with last week's No. 1, . Gannon leads the NFL with a 141.5 rating in the fourth quarter, which is curious, because the are usually so far ahead, they don't need to throw. They probably won¿t next week against the 0-5 either. Meanwhile, ranks only 16th in the overall quarterback rankings but in our system, he jumps up to No. 2, mainly because he ranks in the top 10 in five of the six critical categories. Maybe that¿s a reason the are 4-1.
  • Fourth quarter: The game is often in the balance.
  • Last two minutes in each half: How good is the two-minute drill?
  • Third down: Often a last chance to avoid a punt.
  • Red zone: Can they punch it in?
  • Ahead by seven points or less: Time to put a team away.
  • Behind by seven or less: One TD and the lead is back.
Every QB eligible for the passing title — 36 this week — is scored in our system and ranked according to the NFL formula in all six categories. Whoever scores the lowest total for the six categories has the best "Clutch Factor."
