GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)

Cornerback Sam Shields and outside linebacker Mike Neal have been knocked out of Sunday's wild-card game for the Packers with knee injuries, and San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has left the game with cramps.

The team said Smith's return was questionable.

Shields left on the second play of the 49ers' first possession after hurting his left knee. He was helped to the sideline before being carted off the field.

Neal appeared to hurt his right knee a few plays later. He was one of the players helping to fill the void left by the absence of Clay Matthews, who is out indefinitely with a right thumb injury.
